Big Sandy Superstore - Kenwood, OH

With over 68 years of operation, Big Sandy Superstore is ranked as one of the fastest growing home furnishings retailers in the country. They currently have over 30 retail locations across Kentucky, Ohio, West Virginia, Indiana, Michigan, and Missouri. This 45,000 square foot location was a conversion of a former Baby’s R Us and is located near the Kenwood Mall.

The mechanical and electrical scope entailed modifications and re-use of the existing HVAC roof top units with new concentric air kits. This eliminated the need for ductwork and to provide distribution through the open space, which resulted in considerable construction cost savings.  The existing electrical service was maintained and modified to accommodate the space in junction with all new high efficiency LED general use and decorative lighting with 63% energy savings.
