Big Sandy Superstore is the one stop shop for all your home furnishings and appliance needs.  They are an Employee-owned company with over 68 years of experience and have been ranked as one of the fastest growing home furnishings retailers in the country. They currently have over 30 retail locations across Kentucky, Ohio, West Virginia, Indiana, Michigan, and Missouri.   The Kenwood store is located at 7800 Montogomery Rd is approximately 45,000 SF.  This location is This project was in conjunction with RSL and Big Sandy (directly) and was formerly Baby’s R Us.

MEP scope entailed modifications and re-use of the existing HVAC roof top units with new concentric air kits to eliminate the need for ductwork and to provide distribution through the open space which was a considerable construction cost savings.  The existing electrical service was maintained and modified to accommodate the space with amply power throughout the appliance and showroom areas.  The space was also provided with all new high efficiency LED general use and decorative lighting with 63% energy savings. There was no plumbing, and the existing restrooms received paint and finish refresh only.
