Dorothy Lane Market - Mason, OH
Marque Engineering provided MEP Engineering, Fire Alarm, and Fire Protection Schematic Design for Dorothy Lane Market’s first Cincinnati location. Our work included designing a 3,000 SF snow melt system with hot water piping to keep sidewalks clear during winter. We also engineered a 200 kV capacitor bank for reactive power correction and a 600 kW standby generator to ensure full refrigeration capacity during power outages. For pedestrian safety, we integrated an in-ground sidewalk crossing system with infrared cameras that automatically activated lighting. The project included the installation of security bollards capable of stopping a 5,500 lb vehicle traveling at 30 mph, with an option for K4 rated bollards. Additionally, we designed a custom water booster pump and softening system to maintain consistent water pressure and quality. All lighting in the store was LED, providing a 4% energy savings, and was managed through a 13-zone control system. The HVAC systems exceeded code requirements by 32%, and the kitchen was equipped with a whitewashing hood system featuring self-washing capabilities for reduced maintenance.
