Spooky Nook Sports Champion Mill
The Spooky Nook Sports Champion Mill redevelopment project transformed an old paper mill into a sports, event, and entertainment complex along the west shore of the Great Miami River. The project consists of two main buildings or “mills”.
Marque Engineering played a vital role in the engineering of both facilities. “Mill one” is home to all the sports facilities, including courts and fields for soccer, volleyball, basketball, baseball, field hockey, and more. It also includes a fitness center and recreational facility. “Mill two” included several retail spaces, a bar, and a full-service kitchen.
Engineering services provided include but are not limited to mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering, site lighting, fire alarm, and fire protection schematic services. Spooky Nook now stands as the second largest convention center space in the Tristate area and is the largest indoor sports complex in North America. This project has provided a boost to the local economy, and an injection of around a million people are expected to travel to the city each year as a result of the new development
